Remembering Dennis Wilson (December 4, 1944 – December 28, 1983)
Check out his drumming from :47-1:07!
Ironically, Dennis was the only BEACH BOY that actually surfed, and he drowned.
His solo album "Pacific Ocean Blue" is worth a listen.
Dubbed "The Million Dollar Quartet", Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis pal around at Sun Studios on December 4th, 1956. The tape was rolling, but not released until the 1980's. A dramitization hit Broadway in 2010.
FREDDY "BOOM BOOM" CANON was born Freddy Picariello on December 4th, 1939, in Swampscott, Massachusetts. Dick Clark helped him become a star by booking him several times on "American Bandstand" and his biggest hit was written by another TV personality; future "Gong Show" host Chuck Barris.
After The BYRDS, Chris Hillman (b 12/4/1944) became a pioneer in the country-rock genre with The Flying Burrito Brothers and The Desert Rose Band. The EAGLES would not have been what they were without guys like Chris and Gram Parsons.
