March 3

Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, The BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD was formed in Los Angeles in 1966.  Their story involves a hearse, a steamroller, Rick James and, of course, drugs.

Original singer and founding member or The SEARCHERS, Mike Pender was born 3 March 1942 in Liverpool.  Although the band was a part of the British Invasion, following the likes of The Beatles, The Dave Clark Five and Gerry and The Pacemakers to the United States, one of their biggest hits was written by a couple of Yanks: Jack Nitzche and SONNY BONO.

Willie CHAMBERS (b 3/3/1938) played guitar and started a band with his BROTHERS.

Their biggest hit is popular when we change the clocks.

Original STATLER BROTHER Lew DeWitt (March 12, 1938 - August 15, 1990) sang tenor from the groups debut until he retired due to poor heath in 1983.

Lew also wrote this #2 hit song.
