January 5

"If you're not doing something different, you're not doing anything."
SAM PHILLIPS
(January 5, 1923 – July 30, 2003)

A member of the freshman class of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for good reason; Sam discovered ELVIS, JERRY LEE LEWIS, CARL PERKINS and others and recorded what many consider to be the first rock & roll record- "Rocket 88".

Be sure to tour Sun Studios next time you're in Memphis- I highly recommend it!

After kissin' cousins are quizzed, WILBERT HARRISON  (January 5, 1929 – October 26, 1994)  performs his biggest hit.
