January 9

Before the YARDBIRDS, before LED ZEPPELIN, before he became a legend, JIMMY PAGE (b 1/9/1944) was a session musician.

Although he couldn't read music at the time, he was one of the most sought-after players in London.

Recording up to 3 sessions a day 6 days a week, even Jimmy can't remember what he played on, but his credits include The Who's "I Can't Explain", "Here Comes the Night" by Van Morrison's band Them, Donovan's "Sunshine Superman", Marianne Faithfull's 's version of "As Tears Go By" and The Rolling Stones and Petula Clark's "Downtown".

Here's a little advice on how to deal with the ladies:

At 70 today, I'm not sure ROY HEAD can move like this anymore, but he was AMAZING!

And now, a slow dance from The WALKER BROTHERS:

Frontman Scott Walker was born Noel Scott Engel on January 9, 1943.

The ROLLING STONES hired a new drummer on January 9, 1963- I hope it works out for them.
